Small Snag

we didnt make the dyno as planned last week. Flannery is really busy. we have secured new years eve for both sleds to be dynoed. hopefully this works out. we are all on the edge of our seats waiting to see what kind of smoke these new sleds will make. this is really MY favorite part. i do all the engine work after the initial porting. see you next week...

SOO sled roars to life!!

after months of building, designing, staying up late, and sleepless nights, the Flannery Motorsports Polaris CFI is up and running. tons of improvements this year. new high rpm single pipe for the end of race grunt that others wont have. redesigned front end to drive around the corners effortlessly. beefed up precision chassis and relocation of some under the hood items for a better more user friendly engine bay. dont get me wrong the stuff is still packed in there tight like sardines, with more wires than the space shuttle.

dynoing is now on New years day

#5 MIRA sled

since eric now has a girlfriend he doesnt have time to blog anymore. so ill take up his slack by pretending i am eric without a girlfriend.

last year i busted up the sled along with my collar bone leading the lincoln 500. the sled now needs a new chassis. that has proven to be a tough find. last week we went to a few places and got nowhere. this week mike got a phonecall about a for sure chassis! its just going to come down to how much we want to spend.

how are you? fantastic!

fuel rail is done and pressure checks. motor is done, ecu is at polaris. all we need is two special fittings and the motor is in. dave is finishing the coolant lines this week. we should be dyno ready bey next weekend if the ecus come back. we will be ordering dyno fuel this week ;)

moving right along...

been kind of a slow week, me and kev got sick. monday we got the fuel rail fit and that was it till tonight. our aurora joints are in at E&Ds so we can go to JK tonight and get them fit. sounds like saturday is going to be a productive day. dave is coming to do the coolant lines and alex is wrenching the #05 sled. still looking for a chassis for our MIRA sled. its about time to freshen that sled up. its been upside down a few times....

Airbox Done

polaris released some new angled carb boots for the cfi in '09 so we took advantage of them. the new boots angle the carbs upward. no big deal right? wrong! the new boots allowed us to lower the back of the motor 1.5". lower CG is a BIG deal. since the motor and carbs were moved the end result is a redesigned airbox. we took all of our years experience and made the best one yet. we ran the jackshaft throug it and redirected the air inside of it. now lets see what the dyno says....

Pipe done

SLP/LMB pipe is complete and dyno ready! front a-arms are moving along and coolant lines are started. we sure make a lot of work for ourselves by moving the motor. it is worth it in the end. this sled was close to handling like a gen2 last year and will be very close this year. we also managed to make enough room for our standard sway bar, through the chassis.

SLP Pipe

been working on the sled for a while now and i thought you would like to be brought up to speed. Dustin at SLP the man! he got us quite a few of "non inventory items" this year. we started with a stamped wye pipe and clamshells. we have spent quite a bit of time removing any imperfections and fitting the pipe to our lowered motor. after dyno tuning we will be getting the pipe ceramic coated. we are hoping for 140+hp. we had 138hp last year on our stock pipe.

its time again

back to bloggin to keep our fans informed. please check by weekly for the latest build info of LMB SpeedShop.

Lincoln 500

Before the last race of the year we did a complete overhaul of the #5 enduro sled to prep it for the biggest race of the year. We also sent the motor out to Doug Flannery for some modifications.  Sled was prepped and ready.  Sprints on saturday had a big showing of champ and mod sleds so we didn't fair as well with our stocker and enduro sled in the open sprint class.  Eric did take home first in both of his heats as well as a main event win in the Limited 600 Class.  Kevin qualified our enduro sled on the outside of the front row.  Only 19 thousandths of a second out of first.

The Soo Week

We finished and fired the sled the saturday night before we left.  We decided to load it up and take it out to gunlake on sunday to do some drag racing with it and dial the power commander fuel curve in as close as possible.

Monday-Went over the sled and made sure every nut and bolt was tight

Tuesday-Started Qualifying and found out that the motor wouldn't rev past 8000rpm, which is a big problem when your peak HP is at 8600rpm.

Wednesday-Handling is good but still no MPH and no RPMs after trying almost everything in the book.

It's Business Time

Ice is here and our fleet is at 2/3rds strength.  Last saturday we brought the #5 and #05 out to GunLake to make some practice laps.  The #05 is still as fast as ever ticking off 85mph on the little track.  We chased our tails for a while with the #5 sled just to find out we were using a bent carbide runner that wasn't biting into the ice.  Todd Krikke was out making laps as well so we got some more pointers from him on setup and riding style which is always a bonus.  And we have witnesses to the fact that todd was indeed passed.  :)  We will be back out there this weekend gettin
